The trip to the conference offers a unique opportunity to meet GIS experts from all over the world and gain exciting insights into current trends and innovations. The experiences on site are incomparable and not only valuable for your professional career, but also give you new personal inspiration and broaden your perspective.

As a young scholar 2026 you will get the following!

- Tickets, travel, accommodation and meals for attending the Esri User Conference in San Diego (13. – 17. Juli 2026)
- Award presented by Jack Dangermond, founder and president of Esri Inc. Probably one of the longest running leader and founder of any tech company!
- Exhibition of a poster of the work in the Map Gallery
- Exchange and networking with other young scholars from around the world and other GIS experts
How can you apply?
All seminar papers, project papers or theses written at a German or Swiss college or university that are related to ArcGIS products are eligible.
To be considered, the following documents must also be submitted:
- Abstract (max. 1,000 words, in English) in which you briefly defend your work before the jury. We are not looking for a scientific abstract or AI text 😉
- PDF file of the thesis
- If applicable, link to the results (e.g. application, interactive web map, StoryMap or ZIP file with project files)
