Mark your calendars and join us October 12-13 in Salzburg
Salzburg will be a hotspot for GIS during October 2015. Not only the Esri User Conference Europe (October 14-16) and the Geodesign Summit (October 11-13) will take place, but also the Esri Education Conference Europe comes to town.
The Esri Education Conference Europe is a forum for GIS users in education, academia, and the research sector. It will be held on October 12-13, preceding the Esri European User Conference. The forum will focus on the use of GIS at schools and higher education institutions and offer a wide range of activities for teachers, students, university instructors, researchers and other interested audience members.
The Agenda
Have a look at the agenda including the preconference sessions on GeoGames, Story Maps, Open Data, and the Administration of Site Licenses.
We are expecting great keynote speeches by Prof Alex Singleton, University of Liverpool and Prof Michael Gould, Esri and University Jaume I. And we are looking forward to an inspiring Q&A session with Jack Dangermond, founder and CEO of Esri Inc.
Share your experiences
Don’t just attend the event, be a part of it. Make use of this occasion to present your work to an international audience at Esri Education Conference Europe.
During the breakout sessions you have an opportunity to present your work as a Lightning Talk in a very short timeframe of 7-8 minutes maximum. These Lightning Talks should be to the point and get your message across in very few slides. Lightning Talks focus on one main aspect: an idea, a successful project, an invitation to collaborate, or a brief demonstration.
Topics for the breakout sessions are:
- Teaching and Concepts
- GIS on Campus/Smart Campus
- Applications and Projects

Special Pricing
Esri offers a pricing for only participating in the Education Conference including preconference seminars and an all-inclusive week pricing for participating in all three conferences happening in Salzburg. You can find all information about registration and pricing here.
Another extra: Students who participate in the complete week will receive a certificate by University of Salzburg for this “Summer School” that includes 2 ECTS-credit points. See details at GeoPerspectives Summer School.
The conference will be held in English.
We’re looking forward to seeing you in beautiful Salzburg this autumn!
